 Windows NT

Windows NT (Windows New Technology) is a family of operating systems produced by Microsoft, which the first version was published in July 1993.
Prior to the appearance of the famous Microsoft Windows 95 the company designed a new line of operating systems oriented workstations and network server. An operating system with its own graphical interface, stable and similar to UNIX systems network features. NT letters come from the product description as "New Technology” (New Technology).
Microsoft Windows NT Server is an operating system designed for use in servers, local area network (LAN). It delivers the power, manageability and scalability of Windows NT on a server platform and includes features such as centralized management of security and tolerance more advanced failures, which make it an ideal operating system for network servers.
Windows NT Server is both an operating system for computers (PCs) and personal network operating system. Since it incorporates networking capabilities , networks of Windows NT Server are integrated optimally with the basic operating system , facilitating the use and management of the functions " workstation " In NT there are two types of users , those who belong to a machine running NT Server and WK or those belonging to an NT domain.

Windows NT versions
Windows NT (Windows New Technology, NT). The 32-bit operating system originally developed to be OS / 2 3.0 before Microsoft and IBM will discontinue its work with OS / 2. NT was designed for advanced workstations (Windows NT 3.1) and server (Windows NT 3.1 Advanced Server).

Web services
The combination of Web services and the operating system on Windows NT Server 4.0, provides for the first time the implementation of scalable Web applications and trusted. This system incorporates Internet Information Services 4.0 (IIS), improving the operating system to turn it into a single, cohesive platform that combines services simple, reliable and very comprehensive Web services applications.

Requirements to install Ubuntu Server
The requirements for a Linux server version are minimal because it does not use the graphical environment, but to act as a server depending on the traffic that we may require more.

AMD Opteron and Intel EM64T Xeon Included, for versions 64.

FEDORA
Fedora is a Linux-based operating system that provides users with access to the latest free and open source software, in a stable, secure and easy to manage form. Fedora is the largest of many free software creations of the Fedora Project. Because of its predominance, the word "Fedora" is often used interchangeably to mean both the Fedora Project and the Fedora operating system.

Fedora Server
Fedora Server is a server operating system supported by the community, which gives administrators with experience on any operating system access to the latest server technologies available in the open source community.

Fedora 21 Server provides:
-          New Features Management - Fedora 21 Server introduces three new technologies to handle the management and installation of discrete services infrastructure.
-          Rolekit provides a set of tools for deploying and managing Role that helps administrators to install and configure a specific server role.
-          Cockpit is a user interface based on Web to configure, manage and monitor servers, remotely accessible through a Web browser.
-          OpenLMI offers a tele-management created on Distributed Taskforce Management
-          Common Information Model (DMTF-CIM), which provides management functions scripting across machines, query capabilities and monitoring system events.
-          Domain Controller - One of the features offered through Rolekit is that Fedora 21 Server packaged server solution integrated identity and network environments FreeIPA for Linux / UNIX authentication; machines running on Fedora 21 Server can now provide centralized authentication, authorization and account information by storing user, group, host, and other data objects necessary to manage network security.


Windows XP
Microsoft Windows XP (Windows Experience) is a version of Microsoft Windows, the operating system was the most advanced of the Microsoft Company and released on October 25, 2001.

Factures:
Windows XP introduced new features:
·         More pleasant than their predecessors graphical environment.
·         Faster startup and hibernate sequences.
·         Capacity operating system disconnect an external device, install new applications and drivers without rebooting the system.
·         A new interface easier to use, including tools for developing desktop themes.
·         Using multiple accounts, allowing a user to save the current state and open applications on your desktop and allow another user to open a session without losing that information
·         ClearType, designed to improve text readability on in liquid crystal displays (LCD) and similar monitors Flat Screen CRT.
·         Remote Desktop, which allows users to open a session with a computer running Windows XP through a network or the Internet, accessing your applications, files, printers, and devices.
·         Support for most DSL modems and wireless, as well as the establishment of a FireWire network.

Removed factures
Some of the programs and features that were part of the previous versions of Windows did not make it to Windows XP. CD Player, DVD Player, and Imaging for Windows are replaced with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, Windows Media Player, and Windows shell. NetBEUI and NetDDE are deprecated and are not installed by default. DLC andAppleTalk network protocols are removed. Plug-and-play–incompatible communication devices (like modems and network interface cards) are no longer supported.
Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3 also remove features from Windows XP but to a less noticeable extent. For instance, Program Manager and support for TCP half-openconnections are removed in Service Pack 2. The Energy Star logo and the address bar on the taskbar are removed in Service Pack 3.

Service Packs

Service Pack 1
Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows XP was released on September 9, 2002. It contained over 300 minor, post-RTM bug fixes, along with all security patches released since the original release of XP.

Service Pack 2
Service Pack 2 (SP2) was released on August 25, 2004, SP2 added new functionality to Windows XP, such as WPA encryption compatibility and improved Wi-Fi support (with a wizard utility), a pop-up ad blocker for Internet Explorer 6, and partial Bluetooth support.

Service Pack 3
Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) was released to manufacturing on April 21, 2008, and to the public via both the Microsoft Download Center and Windows Update on May 6, 2008.
